Daisy Jia 贾梦茹
Theatre Producer, Director, Arts Administrator
Daisy Mengru Jia (she/her) is an emerging artistic producer focused on integrating diverse Asian narratives into contemporary theatre. Born in Nanjing, China, she is currently based in Toronto, Ontario. A recent graduate of Queen’s University’s Drama program, she is now enrolled in the Arts Leadership Master Program. Daisy has produced and staged multilingual performances that incorporate elements of cultural and social critique. She directed trailblazing productions such as “The Orphan of Zhao," “The Bystander Game,” and “A Doll’s House in China” during her time as Co-Chair and Artistic Director of Yu Theater Society.
Her artistic skills include theatre producing, directing, marketing and grant writing. Through her project “UnMute,” she continues to grow alongside the work, bringing transformative contemporary stories and challenging conventional norms in the theatre industry. Daisy currently leads a community creative arts program called “A Doll’s Coven,” aimed at empowering and elevating community members through performing arts.
In addition to her work in the arts, Daisy offers services in designing artist business cards, project posters and assisting artists in finding part-time jobs in the education sector to support their livelihoods. Daisy is a Latin dancer; she also enjoys reading magazines and dancing to R&B music as a hobby. Nice to see you on my page here! :)
